Archagel Metatron

Archangel Metatron is credited as being the human prophet Enoch (meaning Initiate or Initiator in Hebrew), who was called Idris by the Arabs. He was supposed to have lived 3284 -3017 BC. During his lifetime he was a great ruler of his people, governing with justice and peace. He is accredited with bringing writing and books to humanity and is supposed to have written 366 books during his lifetime, including books on the Sacred Knowledge of Creation - creation stories based upon patterns of sacred geometry. He is also supposed to have taught the 'Sons of God' how to construct cities and brought through knowledge of the zodiac and planets. Much of the time he lived a pious life in seclusion.

It is written that he earned merit in the eyes of the Lord for his goodness and abilities as a scribe and so when he reached Heaven he was transformed into a spirit of fire and given 36 pair of wings and innumerable eyes (Genesis 5:24). He was given the position of Heavenly scribe and asked to maintain the eternal archives of God, recording every event that occurs. It is therefore said he oversees the Akashic records of each individual, keeping their karmic records. He oversees all the other recording angels. With this position he sits along side the throne of the Lord and to enter into the seventh Heaven, one has to pass by him first.

One interpretation of the meaning of the name Metatron is "One who occupies the Throne next to the Throne of the Divine", although an accurate translation of the name has never been established. In Latin, Metatron means a guide or measurer. It may be a pure Jewish invention being a metonym for the term 'little YHWH'. There are also at least 72 alternative names for Metatron, some writings suggesting there may be at least 100. Psuedo-Dionysius describes him as being one of the Seraphim. He is credited with being one of the tallest angels in Heaven (Haniel and Sandalphon are also meant to be the tallest angels) and has been described as a celestial skyscraper. The Zohar describes him as being equal in size to the breadth of the whole world. Metatron is described as appearing as a pillar of fire, his face more dazzling than the sun, an enormous being of brilliant white light, often holding a scroll in his hand.

As the Archangel Metatron he is associated with various myths and legends. He evicted Jannes and Jambres, two Egyptian magicians, from Heaven, when even the Mighty Archangels Michael and Gabriel were unable to remove them. Leading to the title, King over all the angels and the Supreme Angel. He may have been the dark angel that wrestled with Jacob at Penial (Genesis 32) and who led the children of Israel through the wilderness after the Exodus. He stopped Abraham killing his son, Isaac and is identified as the suffering servant of Isaiah. He was the 'watchman of the night' written about in Isaiah 21. In the Zohar he is described as the 'Rod of Moses': from one side of which comes life and from the other side death.

Metatron is very important in Kabbalist traditions. He governs Kether, the crown, beyond which is only God and as such oversees the 10 angels beneath him on the Tree of Life. He is therefore the link between human and the Divine. He is also associated with the lowest of the seriphot: Malkuth. This is normally linked with Archangel Sandalphon, who is known as the twin or half brother of Archangel Metatron. There is some thought within Kabbalist circles that Sandalphon and Metatron are in fact one of the same, as Kether becomes the Malkuth of the next Tree of Life moving upwards. Because of the position that Metatron holds at the top of the Tree of Life he is given many names: "King of all the Angels", "Prince of the Divine Face or Presence", "Chancellor of Heaven", "Angel of the Covenant", "Chief of the Ministering Angels", "Prince of Wisdom and Understanding", "The Liberating Angel". He is also said to be the "Supreme Angel of Death": God daily gives orders as to the souls to be "taken" that day. Archangel Metatron passing this information on to Archangels Gabriel and Sammual. He is also said to be the teacher of prematurely dead children in Paradise and as such he is known as the patron angel of small children.

The position held by Metatron at the top of the Tree of Life also means he is attributed with being involved in Divine creation: passing the Divine blueprint for creation at all levels down to all the angels beneath him to put into place. Interestingly the prophet Enoch was also associated with writings on creation. Metatron holds and ministers the sacred geometry patterns of the Universe, and is often depicted as holding the 'Metatronic Cube': a 3 dimensional structure composed of all the sacred shapes of the Universe. He places this structure over anything to be created, forming the blueprint of its construction, seen by some clairvoyants as a platinum grid. Increasingly the major Earth's ley lines are being found to follow the same pattern as the Metatronic Cube.

The female counterpart, the twin flame of Metatron is Skekinah, also known as Rachael in Kabbalistic traditions. He is connected with the planet Uranus and he enters our planet through Findhorn in Scotland. You can call upon Archangel Metatron to place a silver cloak of protection around your shoulders and ask for his white column of pure ascension light to surround you, cleansing all your chakras and subtle bodies. He is the governor of the 'Stellar Gateway' chakra situated about 3 feet above the top of you head, which begins to open as we develop spiritually.
